Music Director Hal Beckett has been a fixture of the Vancouver film music community for over 20 years. When not composing scores for film/television/animation, Hal dedicates his time to orchestral pursuits. Most recently, he produced the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s recordings of over 100 national anthems for the 2010 Olympic Games, overseeing the orchestration and copying process in addition to managing the live recordings; he also conducted the three-day scoring session for Gold Circle’s spring blockbuster The Haunting In Connecticut. Scoring mixers Roger Monk (Platoon) and Vince Renaud (District 9) have been the team at the console for nearly all of the VFO sessions. Backed by a superb support team and state of the art equipment, the collective decades of experience these two possess results in a fluid blend of creative and technical skills suited to the unique challenges of capturing the magic of an orchestra.
